How to take a screenshot on the Mac

In this video I’ll show you the three most used ways to take a screenshot on the Mac.

Screenshot the whole screen

Press CMD + Shift + 3.

The screenshot is automatically saved to your desktop.

Screenshot a part of the screen

Press CMD + Shift + 4 and you will see the mouse pointer change to a crosshair pointer. Use this pointer to click, hold and drag the part of the screen you want to screenshot.

Screenshot an open window

Press CMD + Shift + 4. Place the crosshair pointer over the window you want to screenshot and press the space bar. When the crosshair pointer turns in to a camera, simply click to screenshot the open window.
